About the Book:

A magical tale of amazing sacrifice...When a violent windstorm strikes an enchanted rain forest many of the woodland creatures of Willaby Creek are stranded, injured, or lost forever to the frenzied force of the tempest. Basil, a black bear full of doubt and fear, becomes the unlikely leader to head the woodland creatures' rescue. He is joined by Daphne, a spunky blue dryad; Oliver, a wise horned owl; Elbert, a noble elk; and a host of other creatures that inhabit the enchanted rain forest.
Dangerous twists and turns in this animal adventure fantasy cause Basil to discover a courage, and a conviction, he never knew he had. The answers to the ancient mysteries in this magical tale emerge in an extraordinary finale under the tall timbers of the hidden hinterland.

My favorite part is when Lexi gets an award for agility. I also like the pictures of the real dogs at the end.
My least favorite part when Lexi is lost and when we learn about Taz passing away.
lesson I learned keep your dog on a leash or have him dog whistle trained.

I love the beach, and would one day like to take my dog Magnus there. I hope he likes it as much as Lexi and the other dogs do.
Description

Travel two centuries back in time to the final battle of the American Revolution at Yorktown, Virginia. Cousins Patrick and Beth sneak through trenches and race across battlefields to warn General George Washington about a dangerous spy. The spy is stealing his secret plans and giving them to the British. Cannons roar and the ground shakes as the struggle reaches a climax. Washington's ragtag soldiers are up against the most powerful army in the world. Will Patrick and Beth witness the American Revolution come to an end? Or will they be caught in a dangerous trap they can't escape?

My Review:

This is my first book in this series and I loved it!
My favorite part is when the boy get's sprayed by the skunk, it really made me laugh.
My least favorite part was when Beth and Patrick find out that they are on the red coats side.
The lesson I learned is that you should always look to God for help.

What Mom Says
I have been a fan of Adventures in Odyssey for years, I love that this book opens up a discussion about not only history but about God as well. I think this series will be a fun addition to any Christian history program for a fun little historical fiction add on, Or as a jumping point for a year long history theme.
Tymbrel's Review:
I loved it, my favorite part was when he finally howled, and how he realized his fear of being made fun of stopped him from howling. I like the lesson he learned about not letting worry of what people might think hold you back.
I hope you write more books like this.
